NXP Semiconductors FRDM-A-S32K356 Development Board is a versatile FRDM Automotive platform for safety-critical and general-purpose automotive applications. Built around the S32K356 MCU in a compact 289-ball BGA package, the board supports next-generation body, zonal control, electrification, and mobility applications with processing performance, safety, and design flexibility.
The NXP FRDM-A-S32K356 integrates dual 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M7 cores configured in lockstep mode, another single Cortex-M7 running at 240MHz, ASIL D safety hardware, Hardware Security Engine B, OTA support, advanced connectivity, FPU, and low-power capabilities. The board also includes the FS26 safety system basis chip, USB Type-C® power delivery, OpenSDA debug, Ethernet 100BASE-T, CAN FD, LIN, HyperRAM, and onboard automotive-grade sensors.
The FRDM-A-S32K356 is designed for secure and scalable system development with a standard form factor compatible with the Arduino® UNO pin layout. Developers can use the FRDM-A-S32K356 for rapid prototyping, diagnostics, motor control, advanced data analysis, and automotive or industrial applications that require robust communication and functional safety support.
