Texas Instruments TPS99002S-Q1 System Mgmt & Illumination Controller

Texas Instruments TPS99002S-Q1 System Management and Illumination Controller is an automotive DLP® LED controller for the DLP394xS-Q1 chipset. The device works with the DLPC23xS-Q1 DMD display controller to support head-up display systems that require a wide brightness range, tight color control, and high dynamic dimming performance.

The TPS99002S-Q1 integrates system management, power monitoring, sequencing, DMD mirror voltage regulation, illumination control, and diagnostic functions. The TI TPS99002S-Q1 System Management and Illumination Controller includes a 12-bit ADC, two DACs, two photodiode signal-conditioning transimpedance amplifiers, SPI register protection, brightness monitoring, watchdog circuits, temperature monitoring, and supply monitoring for display subsystem control.

The controller is designed for automotive HUD applications with display dimming requirements greater than 5000:1 and typical brightness requirements ranging from 3nits to 15000nits. The TPS99002S-Q1 is Functional Safety Quality-Managed and supports documentation for ISO 26262 functional safety design up to ASIL-B.
