STMicroelectronics IPS4054H High-Side Switch
STMicroelectronics IPS4054H High-Side Switch is a monolithic device built on STMicroelectronics VIPower technology, intended to drive resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads with one side connected to ground. The active VCC pin voltage clamp protects the device against low-energy spikes.
The device integrates an analog current sense that delivers a current proportional to the load current (at a known ratio) when CS_DIS is driven low or left open. The sensed current for each output channel, OUTPUTX, is available on the corresponding current-sense pin, CURRENT SENSEX.
When CS_DIS is driven high, the current-sense pin is in a high-impedance state. In the event of an overtemperature condition, the fault condition is reported via the current-sense pin. The output current limitation protects the device in overload conditions. In the case of a long overload duration, the device limits the dissipated power to a safe level, up to the thermal shutdown intervention.
Thermal shutdown with automatic restart allows the STMicroelectronics IPS4054H to resume normal operation as soon as the fault condition is resolved.
