Allegro MicroSystems A8660 Synchronous Buck Controller
Allegro MicroSystems A8660 Synchronous Buck Controller is designed to satisfy the power supply requirements of industrial, automotive, and consumer applications. The A8660 controller includes all the control and protection circuitry to produce a robust PWM controller delivering high currents. This controller features PWM frequency dithering that reduces EMI/EMC and soft recovery that prevents output voltage overshoot when the converter comes out of a low VIN dropout condition. An external clock can be applied to the SYNCIN pin to shift the PWM harmonics for high-current, low-frequency designs, avoiding AM band interference with a tuner or other sensitive electronics. External compensation is featured so this controller can be tuned to satisfy various system goals over a wide range of PWM frequencies and external components.
