Newhaven Display Premium (MVA) TFT Displays
Newhaven Display Premium (MVA) TFT Displays offer a step up from the standard TN TFTs with brighter backlights and wider viewing angles. These displays use MVA technology to deliver rich blacks and maintain consistent color reproduction at up to 75° angles from all sides. The Multi‑domain Vertical Alignment (MVA) TFT technology enhances display contrast and viewing consistency by aligning liquid crystals vertically and dividing each pixel into multiple domains. These premium (MVA) TFT displays use higher-brightness LEDs than standard TFT displays, resulting in better overall picture quality for more visually demanding applications. Typical Applications include medical imaging systems, advanced HMIs, professional instrumentation, and control systems.
Multi-domain Vertical Alignment (MVA)
The TFT displays with MVA offer wide viewing angles, good black depth, fast response times, and good color reproduction and depth. These MVA TFT displays use pixels that consist of three sub-pixels (red, green, and blue). Each of these sub-pixels is further divided into two or more sub-pixels, where the liquid crystals are randomly lined up due to the ridged polarized glass. When a charge is applied to the transistor, the crystals twist.
The randomly placed crystals allow the backlight to shine through in multiple directions. This helps retain the intended color saturation while providing a 150° viewing angle. The MVA technology is offered in premium TFT models with the option of a resistive or capacitive touch panel.
