Tektronix IsoVu™ Isolated Current Probes

Tektronix IsoVu™ Isolated Current Probes are ideal for both low- and high-current measurements, enabling more accurate dynamic shunt-based current measurements. These TICP series probes offer high bandwidth, flexible ranges, and extremely low noise. The probes also provide complete galvanic isolation between the probe tip and the oscilloscope. The series is available in three bandwidths: 250MHz, 500MHz, and 1GHz. Tektronix IsoVu Isolated Current Probes feature a 1000V CAT II safety rating and are suitable for low noise measurements on current shunts in floating sections of power circuits.

Reduce Noise

Block Diagram - Tektronix IsoVu™ Isolated Current Probes

TICP current probes enable measurements from DC to hundreds of MHz when combined with high-performance current viewing resistors (CVRs) or shunts. Designers can choose from three models to fit application and budget requirements. The complete RF isolation between the probe tip and the scope eliminates ground loops and minimizes common-mode noise. Shielded tips, low attenuation, and 50Ω input impedance also help ensure low noise contribution.

Ideal for SiC & GaN

Shunt probes can offer more bandwidth than clamp-on probes for measuring fast-changing currents in wide bandgap switching devices. IsoVu isolation eliminates ground loops, provides extremely high CMRR, and enables measurements on high-voltage circuits. These features make the TICP probes ideal for current measurements on shunts and CVRs on high-side SiC and GaN switching FETs.

Seamless Integration

The 4, 5, and 6 Series MSO oscilloscopes offer advanced power analysis capabilities, and IsoVu current probes are designed to work seamlessly with these instruments. The TekVPI probe interface powers the probe and automatically detects the probe and tip, allowing probe parameter adjustments via the scope user interface. This feature also enables test automation using programming commands on the oscilloscopes.
